During our search for the perfect camper van, we discovered many Class B RV manufacturers in the United States and Canada. Some of these companies make custom camper vans, others make standard Class B RVs sold through RV dealerships. One thing we know for sure is there are quite a few Class B RV manufacturers out there with a wide range in price. Based in Joliette, Québec, Canada. 5 Mars RV specializes in van conversions with a pop-up top. We first learned about this Canadian Class B van builder while traveling through Maine in a Hymer ProMaster camper van. Currently there are two Class B style camper van models offered by 5 Mars RV. the Imagine model is build on the Ram 1500 with a pop-up roof. The Inspiration model is also built on the Ram 1500 without the pop-up roof.

Adrenaline Vans

Based in Montrose, Colorado. Adrenaline Vans builds custom Mercedes Sprinter van conversions for motorsports and outdoor enthusiasts. This van builder offers a modular interior systems that allows customers to convert the van from an empty cargo van to a fully outfitted adventure van.

Advanced RV

Based in Willoughby, Ohio. Advanced RV has been manufacturing Class B motorhomes since 2012. Customers can order a Mercedes Sprinter custom van with the 144″, 170″ or extended 170″ wheelbase.

Airstream

Based in Jackson Center, Ohio. Airstream (a subsidiary of Thor Industries, Inc.) is more than shiny aluminum travel trailers. The company has been manufacturing the Interstate Class B RV on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis since 2004. All the Airstream Interstate models sleeps two and can seat anywhere from four to nine depending on the model. The Interstate 19 is their smallest Class B 4×4 motorhome measuring in at 19 feet in length.

American Coach

Based in Decatur, Indiana. American Coach (part of REV Group, Inc.) entered the Class B RV market with the introduction of the American Patriot on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis in 2019. The last model year release was 2021.

Benchmark Vehicles

Based in Portland, Oregon. Benchmark Vehicles builds custom van conversions where the customer supply the empty cargo van. This Pacific Northwest van outfitter used to build on the Ford Transit chassis, but in 2021 they made the shift to focus on Mercedes Sprinter camper conversions. According to their website, “production slots are full through the 2021 calendar year.”

Chinook RV

Based in Elkhart, Indiana. Chinook RV went into foreclosure in 2005 and was resurrected in 2013. The company once known as “The Sports Car of Motorhomes” now sells Class B RVs, small Class C RVs, and travel trailers. The Chinook Bayside is built on the Ford Transit chassis and the Countryside is built on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis.

Based in Nokomis, Forida. The Coach House Arriva is a Class B motorhome built on the Mercedes Sprinter 3500 extended van chassis. Standard features include a fridge, roof mounted AC with heat pump, furnace and generator. This Class B RV manufacturer sells factory direct to consumers.
